TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson man has pleaded guilty to two counts of child abuse in a 2011 case.
Pima County prosecutors say 27-year-old David Hollenbeck is facing anything from probation to nearly 24 years in prison when he's sentenced March 12.
The Arizona Daily Star (http://bit.ly/10CPq5e) says Hollenbeck would have to serve one year in jail if he's sentenced to probation.
Authorities say Hollenbeck called 911 to report his 7-week-old son wasn't breathing on Dec. 10, 2011.
He told paramedics and hospital staff that up to that point, he thought his son was only congested.
Doctors discovered the baby had a subdural hematoma and a skull fracture.
Hollenbeck told doctors hours later that he had dropped the infant while showering and the baby's head hit the side of the tub enclosure.
